Following a site inspection by Geotechnical Engineers at the Rest and be Thankful, traffic will return to the trunk road operated by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland from around 11am on Tuesday 6 August.
The short Old Military Road local diversion had been in use as a safety precaution from Sunday 4 August due to a forecast for heavy rain. This ensured that the public were able to travel to and from Argyll safely and with minimal delay.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The use of the Old Military Road again proved to be very successful, keeping Argyll very much open for business through the very wet period.
“Our geotechnical engineers have confirmed that it is now safe to return to the trunk road. We thank road users for their patience through this period.’
