Due to improved weather conditions, traffic returned to the A83 Rest and Be Thankful operated by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland shortly after 10am this morning, Thursday 22 August.
The short Old Military Road local diversion had been in use as a safety precaution from Wednesday 21 August due to heavy rain. This ensured that the public were able to travel to and from Argyll safely and with minimal delay.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “The use of the Old Military Road again proved to be very successful, keeping Argyll very much open for business through the very wet period.
“We thank road users for their patience.”
