BEAR Scotland has closed the M80 northbound off-slip to M9 Junction 9 Pirnhall for safety, as a result of significant subsidence in the carriageway.
Traffic is being diverted via M9 Junction 10 Craigforth.
The slip road is likely to remain closed for some time while investigatory works and repairs are carried out.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for safety that we close this slip road until repairs can be designed and completed.
“Geotechnical engineers are currently assessing the issue following a site visit and will continue to monitor.
“We’ll provide further updates as and when further information becomes available. In the meantime we’re grateful to road users for their patience.”
