BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start essential surfacing improvements on the A85 single carriageway between Loch Iubhair and Port Nellan to the east of Crianlarich.
Resurfacing on the single carriageway section between Loch Iubhair and Port Nellan will start at 7am on Monday 3 March with works scheduled to be completed by 6pm on the evening of Friday 28 March. There will be no works over the weekends.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the single carriageway with a convoy system in place to control traffic through the work site. Traffic management will be removed during the night, however a 30mph speed restriction will be left in place due to the temporary road surface and no road markings.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This crucial surfacing project on the A85 between Loch Iubhair and Port Nellan will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete these improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
