BEAR Scotland has donated £1,000 on behalf of all staff to Steps to Hope, a registered non-profit charity fighting homelessness and providing help for those suffering with addiction in Edinburgh.

Steps to Hope is the second charity this year to benefit from BEAR Scotland’s focus on supporting local and regional causes across the country, with staff from all areas of the company invited to nominate local charities which were most important to them.

BEAR Scotland Customer Service Agent Graeme Thomson nominated Steps to Hope earlier this year. Graeme met with Richie Roncero, Steps to Hope’s founder and Operations Manager, after the charity received its £1,000 donation this week.

Richie said: “It’s going to make a massive difference. £1,000 will feed 500 people or we can put it towards our accommodation where we house 13 people in total. It’s huge for Steps to Hope.”

Iain Murray, BEAR Scotland Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support this excellent local charity on behalf of all of our staff.

“Supporting the communities in which we live and work is extremely important to us. We’re grateful to Richie and the rest of the team at Steps to Hope for all the great work that they do, and we’re delighted to be able to support.”

Steps to Hope is the second of six local causes nominated by BEAR Scotland staff that will be supported this year. Each month, more information will be shared about each of the remaining charities and how BEAR is supporting them.
