Updated 20 February 2025: Due to the poor weather conditions, surfacing works on the A85 west of Dalmally will now be completed on Friday 28 February. Weather permitting, work will resume on Monday 24 February. Please see updated information below.

  • Works started on Monday 17 February

  • Lane closures with convoy, 7am to 7pm

Road users travelling on the A85 west of Dalmally will benefit from an improved road surface as BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, get set to carry out surfacing works from Monday 17 February.

The upgrades involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road surface. The works are required to address deteriorating road surface conditions and refresh road markings.

The works started on Monday 17 February and are expected to be completed by the evening of Friday 28 February. No works will take place on Saturdays or Sundays.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day under a 10mph convoy with two-way temporary traffic lights. Outwith these hours traffic management will be removed however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These resurfacing works will greatly enhance the quality and safety of the road, as well as upgrading road markings to improve visibility.

“We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
