Road Closure with amnesties
On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A82 just North of Drumnadrochit with works set to get underway on Sunday 2 February.
The works will see a section of the A82 North of Drumnadrochit be resurfaced over seven nights. Works will take place between 8pm and 6am from the evening of Sunday 2 February until the morning of Tuesday 11 February.
Due to the nature of the works, it will be necessary to close the road with amnesties in place to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public. The amnesties take place at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 2am, & 4am.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A82 North of Drumnadrochit will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“The overnight closures are essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
