Motorists using the A828 will benefit from a £100,000 package of resurfacing works set to be carried out at Artona, north of Sealife, and west of Barcaldine, next month.
The improvements, on behalf on Transport Scotland, will involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for drivers. Worn road markings will also be renewed.
The works at Artona will be carried out on Sunday 13th November between 7pm and 7am and works west of Barcaldine will be carried out on Monday 14th November between 7pm and 7am.
Due to restricted road widths through these sections of the A828, the carriageway will be closed in both directions on Sunday 13th November from 7pm to 7am, and Monday 14th November from 7pm to 7am to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. Amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm,12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site. Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site at all times.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.”
“We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
