SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED FOR THE A87 LOCH LOYNE

July 12, 2022

Project to begin on Thursday 14 July over three days

  • Lane closures in place for safety, 7am to 7pm

Road users using the A87 near Loch Loyne are set to benefit from an improved road surface, with works due to get underway on Thursday 14 July.

The improvements will see over 700 metres of the A87 resurfaced between Invergarry and Bun Loyne, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The project is expected to take place over three days, with works to take place between 7am and 7pm each day and completion expected by 7pm on Monday 18 July, subject to weather conditions. No works will be undertaken on Saturday or Sunday.

To protect roadworkers and road users alike, a 10mph convoy system with temporary traffic lights will be in place for safety. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This surfacing project on the A87 between Invergarry and Bun Loyne will help to address any defects and greatly improve the route for road users.

“The planned traffic management is essential in ensuring the safety of road users and our operatives. Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can.

“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance.  We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
