In support of Keep Scotland Beautiful Spring Clean 2022, which is focused this year from 21 March to 21 April, we are running a schools 2022 Litter Campaign Design Competition, open to all primary school learners across the SE area.
As well as repairing roads and bridges when they need fixed, putting the road signs up, looking after the streetlights, and keeping the roads running smoothly, we have to spend far too much time collecting litter. In fact, we collected over 5,000 large black bags of litter and 2,200 large objects during 2021! If laid out in a line, this would stretch to over 3.6km or over 2 miles.
We think this is totally unacceptable and we would like the help of school pupils to help us tackle this problem and try to stop this behaviour.
We would like pupils to design and create a poster, slogan or song/rap that we can use across our social media to try to encourage drivers and their passengers to take their litter to a bin.
