BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, would like to inform those using the A9 at Berriedale that road surface improvements which were due to finish on the night of Wednesday 17 May are being extended by one night.
There will be an additional full road closure on Thursday 18 May between 8pm and 6am.
Vehicles will be held at either side of the work site until they can be escorted through the area safely during amnesty periods (when work is suspended) at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am. An alternative route is available via Lairg, for those who do not want to wait for an amnesty.
The A9 will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland www.traffic.gov.scot or twitter at @trafficscotland
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
