Slip road closures will be in place on the northbound A1 at Bankton Junction on the nights of 14, 15 and 16 March.
This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to upgrade roadside safety barriers, as part of a wider scheme to upgrade the barrier system on the A1 between Wallyford and Gladsmuir.
The slip road off the northbound A1 will be closed on the nights of 14 and 15 March, with traffic diverted to Dolphingstone Junction, then returning to exit the A1 at Bankton Junction via the southbound off-slip.
The slip road onto the northbound A1 will be closed on the nights of 15 and 16 March, with traffic diverted to join the northbound A1 at Gladsmuir Junction.
Emergency services and other relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential that we close these slip roads during these works to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists while we make these improvements.
“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their understanding.”
