The slip road from the A823(M) eastbound onto the M90 southbound at Junction 2 Masterton will be closed between 20:00 and 06:00 on the night of Saturday 2 November. The hard shoulders and one lane in each direction of the M90 will also be closed.
This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to undertake urgent investigation works on the concrete edge beam of the bridge carrying the slip road over the motorway.
A diversion route for traffic on the A823(M) wishing to join the M90 southbound will be signposted via the M90 northbound to turn at Junction 3 Halbeath and return southbound. This diversion will add approximately six miles and three minutes onto affected journeys.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “An inspection of this structure is essential to ensure the safety of motorway users.
“We thank motorists in advance for their understanding and recommend that they check the latest travel updates from Traffic Scotland, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for their journey if required.”
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to make them aware of these works in advance.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
