A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland’s team looking after the 1,422km of trunk roads and associated 1501 bridges and structures under the Scottish Trunk Roads Network Management Contract for the North West of Scotland. The North West Unit stretches from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute and from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt through some of Scotland’s most scenic countryside.

 

We are looking for a Design Technician to join our Category 1 design team dealing with Priority Defect Repairs. This position will join our Asset Management team.

Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Design, preparation of drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and Operations Instructions for repairing priority defects and the associated infrastructure.
  • Comply with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified to HNC or HND level, if not qualified will be given opportunity to study for these
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • A full approved UK driving licence
